Is an Obi-Wan-Kenobi Film Coming

It's apparently clear that the Disney-owned Lucasfilm will indeed be venturing into the realm of Star Wars spinoff films, fans began fantasizing a pretty awesome wish list. A Han Solo film was high on the list, as was a Boba Fett film, but the potential movie that got arguably the most chatter from fans and journalists alike was a spinoff starring the legendary Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Now, it seems it's really happening.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar-nominated director Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Reader) is in "early talks" to direct a Kenobi movie which would join the Anthology series of spinoff films that already includes Rogue One and the upcoming Han Solo prequel. The development process is only just beginning, but if Daldry ends up taking on the project he would ultimately work on the script in close collaboration with Lucasfilm.

Lucasfilm is also reportedly considering spinoffs centered on Boba Fett and Yoda, but no directors or writers are mentioned in the report.

Of course nothing is set in stone and McGregor hasn't confirmed being approached to reprise the role, fans believe that he is the way to go for an Obi Wan Film.
