JAKE'S FRIED CHICKEN REPORT
After having sampled four fried chickens...and they do serve coke. I believe the best fried chicken this week to be Essenhaus over Chicken Coup; now let me tell you why! Chicken Coup has great looking chicken and they have been around since I was in high school. The problem is the flavor of the chicken. In todays broasted age of chicken it just doesn't hold up to some of the other leaders in fried chicken service. To be honest I can get better chicken at Kroger's or Publix if your in the south. Now that brings me to the Das Dutchmen Essenhaus in Middlebury, Indiana. They must brine the chicken and then really smartly season the flour because this chicken is nothing short of AMAZING. It has the right amount of crunch while exposing a tender piece of chicken on the inside. I mean even the breasts are tender... On any note, that is where mine and Elwood's money will go.
